Brothers & Sisters S1E09

"Mistakes Were Made Part 2"

Sarah is my favourite role in the Walker family. Basically I like Rachel Griffiths, she performed with Matthew Rhys several times.

G.I. Guy: Life on the base is pretty much a 24/7 sausage fest.
Kevin: That sounds pretty.....horrible, that sounds pretty horrible.

LOL!!
Then the conversation is going on....

G.I. Guy: Your sister has how many kids?
Kevin: I honestly don't know anymore.
G.I. Guy: How about you?
Kevin: No, I don't have any kids. (snip) For another, you kinda need to be in a long time relationship, and my boyfriend just broke up with me, so...
G.I. Guy: So you're single? I was hoping you'd say that.
(Sarah and Tommy are waiting for Kevin outside)
Kevin: Good news, no great news. I've got a line on a place for us to crash tonight.
Sarah: You are incredible, we come to an army bar, and he gets laid.
Kevin: Well, not yet, but I'm working on it.

The G.I. guy is hot, his smile is pretty nice.
By the way, Kevin, at first, tries not to be found he is gay, he says "That sounds pretty horrible", but then he tells the guy he is gay. I don't know his feeling, because of drunk? Next morning.

Sarah: Wow, I feel like Nick Nolte's mug shot.
Kevin: That's what happens when you do Jelly-O shots with enlisted men.
Tommy: If we're not as chipper as you are Kev, you didn't sleep on the floor.
Kevin: Oh, that's right, Tommy. I certainly did not.

Brothers & Sisters S1E08

"Mistakes Were Made: Part 1"

It's painful. Especially when Scotty says "Congratulations" to Kevin, it's like a very strong heavy sarcasm. But basically it's Kevin's fault. He shouldn't have said to Scotty "If you not gonna support me, then shut up!" in the last episode.

Kevin: So do you have any plans for lunch?
Scotty: Lunch? Us?
Kevin: Yeah, I thought maybe we could celebrate with lunch. You could even buy now, since you're so flush. Since we're sort of equals.
Scotty: Me having money makes us equals?
Kevin: Only in terms of...
.
.
Scotty: I usually don't like to admit this, but I was completely wrong about you.
.
.
Scotty: It took me a long time to figure out how much I'm worth. (snip) It's taking you, let's see... two months, to make me feel worthless. Congratulations.

Scotty leaves Kevin's office with no money. I didn't feel happy with this scene, of course, but I expected something making out between them. Unfortunately my hope didn't become true. Anyway, the breaking up is so sad. When I watched this episode, I was really really disappointed.

Kevin: Hi Scotty, it's... emm it's Kevin, your least favourite Martian. Look, I've been on your planet for thirty-four years, and I still get a lot of things wrong. Like about money and work and people and life and... love.... Everything. Anyway, I just wanted you to know, I think you're amazing and funny and cute as hell, and I just hope that someday, maybe, I don't know, three Martian years from now, because our years are longer than yours. Maybe I could be worthy of your human love and respect, whether we're together or not. That's all.

Wow, his confession on the phone is absolutely fantastic. If I were Scotty I maybe forgive him. but...

Kevin: Please tell me this is the part where you let me off the hook.
Scotty: It's not.
.
.
Scotty: Could you please send me the check.
Kevin: I already did.
Scotty: Okay then, bye.
Kevin: Bye....(sniff)

Brothers & Sisters S1E07

"Northern Exposure"

I like their conversation at Kevin's flat.

Kevin: I lost my virginity in Ojai. Both times. First to this girl called Sarah Gimble. And second, one summer later to this, this guy, this total stud. Everyone in Ojai was in love with him.
Scotty: What was his name?
Kevin: Tucker Booth. (snip) I lured him into this tree house Tommy and I had built. Hey, you know what we should do?
Scotty: Google Tucker Booth?
Kevin: No. We should go up there this weekend.
.
.
Kevin: I wanna see the orchards.
Scotty: I wanna see the tree house.

See, they are so funny. I really do want to see Tucker Booth! Should I google him?
Then they go to Ojai. At dinner they start to argue about sperm donation, because Kevin refuses to donate his sperm.

Kevin: How long would it be until his friends find out his biological dad is actually his gay uncle.
Sarah: I'm sorry Kevin, but you sound like you're channeling Jerry Falwell on Sunday morning.
Kevin: Grow up.
Sarah: I know you don't agree with him, Scotty. You're more evolved than that.
Scotty: I don't.
Kevin: Scotty, please! This is my family. If you're not gonna support me, then shut up.

Basically it's Kevin's fault. He shouldn't have said to Scotty "If you not gonna support me, then shut up!".

Brothers & Sisters S1E06

"For the Children"

I like this making up.

Scotty: Can we talk this later when you are sober and I'm not at work.
Kevin: I, I never get like this, okay, I never lose control over anyone.
Scotty: Supposed to be flattered?
Kevin: Yes, so could you please forgive me, so I can stop getting drunk? I promise I'll, I'll never offer to pay for anything ever again. Not a dinner or a movie, or not even a parking meter.
Scotty: Okay, enough. I forgive you.
Kevin: Really?

Kevin is so cute here. He really likes Scotty. When I am stared with eyes like his, I will never be able to resist it. I can't believe they will break up in the next episode, just after this one. Nobody knows!!

Brothers & Sisters S1E05

"Date Night"

I love the scene where Scotty whispers "Why whispering?". Luke's voice is so sexy. And also this episode is a sort of the beginning of their relationship, so I guess it's an important epi.

Scotty: I'm sorry for the other night.
Kevin: What other night?
Scotty: The movies? "Two For The Road" In our case, four, if we count your mother and my friend.
Kevin: Your friend? You were holding hands, so unless he was a blind friend I'd assume he's your boyfriend.
Scotty: I know you were hurt.
Kevin: That would imply that I cared.
Scotty: When can we go out again?
Kevin: I don't ask guys out twice who are currently involved. I imagine you don't understand being the poster boy for monogamy.
Scotty: There is no harm in dating around. When I'm exclusive, I'm exclusive.
Kevin: So are you? Exclusive?
Scotty: Well, we're not registered, that's you mean. And p.s., you were the one who canceled on me to hang out with your mom, so I'm the one who should be offended and a little weirded out.
Kevin: Okay, fine. How's tomorrow night?
Scotty: My boyfriend and I might have plans but I'll check.
Kevin: He can come too, he's kinda hot. How's 7:30?
Scotty: Geriatric, let's say 9.

And date night.

Scotty: Why are you whispering?
Kevin: I'm... I'm not.

I love this scene. Especially I love Scotty's saying "Why are you whispering?" Then...

Scotty: I love this part. When you look at someone and they don't look away.

Scotty leans to Kevin and kiss. They had a little argument after dinner then next day Scotty visits Kevin's flat.

Scotty: What I really want to say is, I like you and I feel completely and totally out of my league. Frankly, I feel like such a loser on it with you. That's a whole other conversation, that's my homework.
Kevin: Scotty, stop talking.

And kiss! I want to be a Kevin!!!

Brothers & Sisters S1E04

"Family Portrait"

Basically I'm not a big fan of Kitty & Nora. The base of this episode is the family portrait. Nora wants to hang a photo on the wall and chooses her favourite picture but Kitty wasn't there. Anyway Kevin stands Scotty up because of Nora. Then at night, he meets Scotty who is with his boyfriend at the theatre, and it hurts Kevin.

Kitty: Oh, Kevin plays.
Kevin: What? No, no, Kevin doesn't.
Sarah: Yeah, Kevin does play. He played on the high school golf team.
Kitty: That's right.
Kevin: Yeah, only because I had a crush on Matthew Brown, I joined everything he joined, even Future Farmers of America.
(laugh)
Kevin: Yeah, he grew a prize-winning pumpkin.
Kitty: Oh, I bet he did.

Kevin says Kevin doesn't. I love this line. I guess everyone has such experience, if you like someone, you would join in everything that the person joins.

Kevin: Kitty, first of all, I have a tentative date set for that day.
Kitty: You do not.
Kevin: I do.
Sarah: You do? Who with?
Kevin: What?
Sarah: Who with?

I love Sarah's facial expression! And the scene goes to night and Kevin bumps into Scotty.

Scotty: Mr. Walker. Of course you'd come to see "Two for the Road", you're tough attorney of law.
Kevin: Look, I'm so sorry, I know I was supposed to call you. My mum kinda hijacked my day.
Scotty: Oh, that's okay, I find ways to busy. There's the gym, gainful employment, suitors.

Then Randy who seems to be on a date with Scotty comes back with their tickets. Kevin sees they are hand in hand, it's obvious, he can't hide his disappointment. After that, Kevin gets a little hissy and argues with Nora. I totally agree with Kevin. Nora is pretty much manipulative.

Kevin: Look, I'm sorry mom, but I had a date with Scotty last night. That's where I should've been!

Sigh.... Kevin really wanted to date Scotty, didn't he?

Brothers & Sisters S1E03

"Affair of State"

The beginning of this scene wasn't aired on original episode 2, but it was put in previous scene in episode 3.

Scotty: I usually steer clear of your kind. I like a man who's not afraid of a little eyeliner. Or, you know, a lot.

I like the song at the end, "Easier To Lie" by Aqualung.

Anyway Sarah invites Scotty to their pool party for a payback to Kevin. Kevin actually feels a little uneasy, he thinks it's profoundly unprofessional. Very beginning of Brothers & Sisters, Scotty was a sort of campy character. So Luke plays as he should be. To tell the truth, I prefer not campy Scotty, and I don't like his hair especially, sorry.

Back to the episode, firstly Kevin feels a little weird having Scotty to his party though, I guess he changes his mind gradually in one day. He says

Scotty: May I ask?
Kevin: No you may not, you are just a witness.

but he looks like he doesn't think as he says. And when Kevin eats a cupcake, he is giggled a little. It's lovely.

Brothers & Sisters S1E02

"An Act of Will"

This is the episode that Kevin meets Scotty for the first time.

Kevin: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I am "a gay", so I mean..., whatever. err... Could... How did you know?
Scotty: So you're, like, all in the closet. In this day and age?
Kevin: No, actually I'm not in the closet at all, I'm open and proud.
Scotty: You're not proud, you're trying to pass.

Many people wonder how Scotty found out Kevin was gay, I also have same question, but Scotty talks about something in next episode's preview (Season 1 Episode 3). This scene wasn't aired on the original episode 2 though, probably editor decided to show us the interaction between Scotty & Kevin. Unfortunately I don't get it, Scotty says "I usually steer clear of your kind. I like a man who's not afraid of a little eyeliner. Or, you know, a lot." What is it supposed to mean?
